ISO 14000 Environmental Management Systems, EMAS
Conformity to these well-known systems is voluntary but is increasingly common. SETAM is able to assist its clients throughout all these levels of the procedure to obtain and maintain certification.
These certifications bring benefits in terms of image and are sometimes required in relations between companies as a certification of good environmental conduct and thus overall reliability. Moreover, there are other benefits, like the reduction in the amounts of sureties, preliminary fees, and the simplification of some administrative procedures.
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
(or E.I.A. screening)
This is similar to an authorization request in that a favourable decision enables new works to be created or existing ones to be modified, except for operational authorisations, which must follow the other procedures required (e.g. E.I.E.)
Strategic Environmental Assessment (S.E.A.)
(or S.E.A. screening.)
This is a complex preliminary assessment of approvals for modifications and initiatives concerning territorial planning. The most common example is the variation of the intended use of areas regulated by the Land Use Plan.
Legislative Decree 231/2001 and environmental offences
This law concerns the assessment and management of the risk of certain offences, including environmental offences, being committed by the company. Given the wide range of situations involved, SETAM is able to assisting its client or coordinating companies with the specific question of environmental offences.
Programmed updating of conformity
All SETAM’s clients can benefit from the periodic conformity updating service. If requested, it is possible to personalise the service for the individual client and draw up a schedule to ensure that all legal obligations and authorisations will remain updated.
Chemical analyses, simulations, and models
Specialised laboratories and collaborators work with SETAM to extend their range of activities to all those analyses, simulations, studies, and modelling that require qualified skills, both in terms of authorisations and construction and management.
